This term, All Faiths Children’s Academy was proud to participate in our Trust’s latest #WeAreOne event: True Colours Day for LGBTQ+ History Month.
As a Trust, we came together to celebrate the achievements of the LGBTQ+ community through history, but also to give our children the chance to celebrate their true selves and ‘true colours’.
Across February, our children engaged in various activities as part of our ‘Thinking Inclusively’ curriculum, where we discussed topics such as identity, prejudice, inclusivity and how some people’s families may look different to others.
On Friday 11th February, our children participated in our Trust-wide True Colours Event, a day dedicated to celebrating who we are as individuals, and being our best selves. Our pupils loved dressing up in colourful outfits to represent who they are.
The Thinking Schools Academy Trust is a family of 18 schools, all of which participated in this brilliant #WeAreOne event. Together, we created this wonderful video in celebration of LGBTQ+ history month and the fact #WeAreOne, but also our Trust’s commitment to giving our young people the space and support they need to be their true, authentic selves.
